How is 13th-month pay worked out?

Add up the basic salary earned from January to December, then divide by 12. Someone who worked 6 months gets about half a month's pay.

What counts as basic salary?

Usually the regular pay for work done, without overtime, holiday pay, night shift pay, allowances or cash for unused leave. Unpaid absences are taken out.

When is it due?

On or before December 24 each year, for rank-and-file employees who worked at least one month in the year.
